Police should just “Buzz Off,”

Children’s Commissioner Al Aynsley Green has expressed his concern at a new device brought forward by the Police called the Mosquito.

The Mosquito emits a piercing and annoying high pitched siren that, due to its high frequency, can only be heard by people under the age of 25. The device is meant to be used as a crowd control or gang warfare weapon to disperse young crowds.

Al Aynsley Green proclaims that, “These devices are indiscriminate and target all children and young people, including babies, regardless of whether they are behaving or misbehaving,”

He also believes that, "The use of measures such as these is simply demonizing children and young people, creating a dangerous and widening divide between the young and the old."
He has launched a new campaign called “Buzz Off,” to dispose of the Mosquito.

Police claim that the mosquitoes are only ever on for a maximum of twenty minutes and that they are effective in moving on anti-social gangs, shopkeepers are reported to have benefited from the technology and around 3,500 now exist in the U.K. The noise is reported to start being annoying after 5 minutes.
This report verified by REUTERS and BBC News websites.

I enjoyed working at the CLC and I hope to write something here again next year!

Dear the writer of this story,

I like this story alot, very interesting. I hate that people are stereotyping kids between say 13 and 17 as dangerous and full of crime. Don't you??
